Ordering and Payment

Browse the shoes, boots or accessories collections, choose your size, add to basket, then check out. You can pay as a guest or set up an account if you'd like to track your past orders and save a delivery address for next time.

Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay and PayPal. Card payments run through Shopify Payments, so your details are encrypted and never stored on our site.

If your order hasn't been dispatched yet, yes. Email Sales@londonbrogues.co.uk straight away with your order number. We dispatch most orders the same day they're placed if they come in before our 12pm cut-off, so the sooner you tell us, the better the chance of catching it.

A confirmation email goes out the moment your order is processed. If it isn't in your inbox within an hour, check your junk folder, then drop us a line via the contact page if it's still missing.

Delivery and Shipping

£1.99 for Royal Mail 2nd Class (2 to 3 working days, untracked) or £6.95 for DPD Local next working day delivery (fully tracked). The cut-off for next-day is 12pm Monday to Friday. Full details on the delivery page.

Royal Mail 2nd Class typically takes 2 to 3 working days. DPD Local arrives the next working day if you order before noon. Orders placed on a Friday afternoon are processed on Monday for Tuesday delivery, and bank holiday weekends add a day to the timeline.

Yes, but parts of Scotland operate on a 2-day DPD service rather than next-day. The postcodes affected are AB31 to 56, PH15 to 50, FK17 to 21, HS1 to 9, IV1 to 63, KA27 to 28, KW0 to 17, and PA20 to 78. Royal Mail 2nd Class times are unaffected. See the full delivery page for details.

Yes. Europe is £24.95 with DHL (3 to 5 working days). Rest of World is £29.99 with DHL (5 to 10 working days). Both services include full tracking.

You'll be liable for any import duties, customs charges or local VAT charged by the destination country. These are due at or after delivery and set by your local customs office, not by us. Worth checking your country's rules before you order so there are no surprises.

You'll receive a dispatch email with a tracking number as soon as your order leaves our warehouse. DPD orders include a live tracking link. Royal Mail 2nd Class only confirms delivery rather than the journey.

Returns and Exchanges

You can return any unworn pair within 30 days of receiving them for a full refund. Returns are free for UK customers, and a pre-paid label and form come inside every parcel. Full details on the returns and exchanges page.

Pop the returns form and pre-paid label into the box, drop the parcel at any Royal Mail post office, and keep your proof of postage. We can't be held responsible for parcels that go missing in transit if there's no proof of posting.

Yes. Add a quick note inside the return saying which size or style you'd like instead and we'll send the replacement out as soon as the original is back with us. If you're swapping for a different style, browse the shoes or boots collections and quote the product name on your note.

Refunds are processed within 7 days of receiving your return. You'll get a confirmation email when it's done, and the funds will appear in your account within a few working days depending on your bank.

Returns must be unworn and in their original packaging, including the dust bag and box. Trying them on at home is fine. Soles that show outdoor wear can't be refunded.

Contact us within 7 days of delivery on Sales@londonbrogues.co.uk with your order number and a photo of the issue. We'll arrange a replacement or a full refund, including return postage.

Sizing and Fit

Adult shoes run from UK 7 (EU 41) to UK 12 (EU 46) as standard. Selected styles go up to UK 15 (EU 49) in the Large collection. Junior brogues run from UK 3 (EU 35.5) to UK 6 (EU 39) in the junior collection.

Go up rather than down. Leather softens and moulds to your foot over the first few weeks, but it won't shrink to fix shoes that are too tight. The full sizing chart is on our size guide page.

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall and mark where your longest toe ends. Measure that distance in centimetres and check it against our size chart. Measure at the end of the day if you can, since feet swell slightly through the day.

Yes, our standard last fits a typical UK foot accurately. The wide fit collection is built on a wider last (an EE fitting), so it has more room across the ball of the foot. If you usually find standard shoes pinch, the wide fit range is what you want.

A bit, yes. The leather softens over the first 10 to 20 wears and shapes itself to your foot. There's a full guide on breaking in new leather shoes on the Style Blog if you want a day-by-day approach.

Wide Fit

EE fitting. That's wider than the standard D fit, with extra space across the ball of the foot and the toe area. Ideal for anyone with broader feet, bunions, or who finds standard shoes pinch on the sides. There's a longer take on the best brogues for wide feet on the Style Blog.

If you've ever felt pressure on the sides of your foot in regular shoes, had numbness in the toes, or seen your foot spilling over the insole, wide fit is for you. A lot of customers stick with uncomfortable shoes for years before they realise proper wide fit options exist.

The Gatsby Brogue (in tan, black, chestnut, and tan/navy) and the Shelby Oxford in tan/navy. All available across our standard UK adult size range. Browse the full wide fit collection.

Wide fit currently runs UK 7 to 12. If you need both wide fit and a size above 12, drop us an email at Sales@londonbrogues.co.uk and we'll let you know what we can do.

Junior Brogues

UK 3 to 6, which is EU 35.5 to 39. Sized for older boys, teens, and adults with smaller feet. Browse the full junior collection.

That's exactly what most customers buy them for. The Gatsby Junior Brogue is the most popular option and comes in tan, black, chestnut, tan/navy, and tan/white. Smart, comfortable, and built to last well beyond the wedding day. Pair them up with the matching adult shoes for the groom from the weddings and occasions collection.

Yes. Same real leather uppers, same construction, same finishing. They look like miniature versions of the adult Gatsby brogue rather than a cheaper kids' shoe.

Large Sizes

Yes. The Large collection covers UK 13 to 15 (EU 47 to 49) on selected Gatsby brogue styles. Currently available in tan, black, chestnut, bordo, tan/navy and black polished, plus the Shelby Oxford in tan/navy.

Large size production runs are smaller, so we focus on the styles that sell best in those sizes. If you want a specific style that isn't currently listed in UK 13+, get in touch and we'll let you know if it's coming back into stock.

Products and Materials

Real leather uppers (typically South American), Italian-sourced components for things like soles and linings, and traditional shoemaking construction. Suede styles like the Hamilton Suede Chelsea Boot are full-grain suede. We don't use synthetic uppers on any adult or junior shoe. More on our standards on the about us page.

Every adult shoe and boot is made with real leather uppers. The lining is leather on most styles. Soles vary by style: some are leather, others are rubber for grip and durability.

Brogues are defined by their decorative perforations (broguing) along the seams and toe cap, originally added so water could drain out when the shoes were worn in the Scottish and Irish bogs. Oxfords are a closed-lacing dress shoe style. A shoe can be both, an Oxford brogue, like our Sidney or Albert. There's a longer breakdown on the Style Blog: what's the difference between an Oxford and a brogue.

An ankle-height boot with elastic side panels and a pull-tab at the back, designed to slip on without laces. Originally made for Queen Victoria in the 1840s. We do them in leather (Hamilton, Henry, Gatsby) and suede in tan, brown, navy and bordo. Full guide: our ultimate guide to the Chelsea boot.

A laceless dress shoe held closed by one or two leather straps with metal buckles. The Leonard is our monk strap, sitting between a brogue and an Oxford in formality. There's more background on the Style Blog: men's monk strap shoes.

Open-lacing versus closed-lacing. On a derby, the eyelet panels sit on top of the vamp and lace freely. On an Oxford, they're stitched underneath, giving a sleeker, more formal look. The Tommy Derby is our derby style; the Sidney, Albert, and Arthur are Oxfords.

Leather and Suede Care

Clean off any dirt with a soft brush, condition with a quality wax polish, and buff with a polish cloth. Avoid washing-up liquid and household sponges, both of which strip the natural oils. Full guide on the Style Blog: How do I care for my leather shoes.

Suede needs a soft suede brush and a suede-specific cleaner, never water and detergent. For stubborn marks, hold the shoe over steam and brush gently. Always treat suede boots with a protector spray before the first wear, then again every few weeks.

For everyday wear, a quick brush after each wear and a proper polish every 2 to 4 weeks keeps them in shape. Going to a wedding or formal event? Polish the day before so the leather has time to absorb the wax properly.

Take them off as soon as you can, wipe down the outside, and stuff them with dry newspaper. Change the paper out as it absorbs the moisture. Don't put them on a radiator or near direct heat: that dries out the leather and cracks the finish. The full leather care guide covers this in more detail.

Not directly, but any reputable wax polish (Saphir, Kiwi or Cherry Blossom) will do the job. Match the polish to the leather colour, or use neutral if you want to keep the colour as it is rather than darken it slightly. We do stock accessories like belts, washbags, laces and socks.

Not currently. We'd recommend cedar shoe trees for any quality leather shoe: they keep the shape, draw out moisture, and slow down creasing. Lasts.com and Pediwear stock good ones at a sensible price.

Style and Occasions

A polished Oxford or brogue in black, tan or chestnut works for most weddings. For a relaxed country wedding, suede Chelsea boots or tweed-trim brogues like the Gatsby Tan/Tweed strike the right note. For black tie, stick to plain black Oxfords like the Albert Patent or Sidney Black. Browse the full weddings and occasions collection.

For office wear and most formal occasions, yes. Going sockless looks fine in summer with chinos or rolled-up trousers, but only in casual settings. If you're after the no-show look, ankle socks are a workable middle ground. Longer take on this: should I wear socks with my brogues. Worth pairing your shoes with our patterned socks if you want a bit of personality.

Both, depending on the style. Plain black Oxford brogues like the Sidney sit firmly at the formal end. A tan brogue with white wing-tip detailing or a tweed trim leans casual or smart-casual. The colour and the materials do the heavy lifting here.

Yes. Brogues have been a wardrobe staple for over a century and they aren't going anywhere. They've adapted along the way: suede, two-tone, and tweed details now sit alongside the classic black and tan styles. The history of men's brogues covers the back story if you're curious.

It's a line from the Kingsman film, where the older agent corrects the younger one on his shoes. The point is that an Oxford and a brogue aren't the same thing: Oxford refers to the lacing style, brogue to the decorative perforations. A shoe can be one, the other, or both. See what's the difference between an Oxford and a brogue for the full breakdown.
